Pliteq engineers part of winning design team!

Karl Simpson of Hoare Lea Acoustics submitted the victorious University of Exeter project for the 2013 ANC Awards in the category of Sound Insulation Design. The Awards look for examples of work that displays innovation, and originality in acoustic design or approach to a particular project.

High levels of acoustic privacy were needed in an renovated wood-framed building. The design criteria were strict: “raised voices to be unintelligible in adjacent spaces” as well as subjective.

The Pliteq GenieClip was successfully integrated into the design and then installed on site following assistance from the Pliteq technical team. The GenieClip was specifically chosen for the project for its high level of acoustical isolation performance when used in a single-stud wall construction. The GenieClip fail-safe design, and ease of installation contributed to the field success.

Congratulations go out to to Karl and the entire Pliteq engineering team for this award.
